If you use Android and are having some trouble sending pictures, videos, or any other file (especially large ones), then follow the steps below! These instructions will show you how to use Google Drive App on your mobile device to send any files on your mobile device!
(You can scroll down for the instructions or watch this video!)
This is great because if you try to send media over text (especially videos, if it will even allow them to be sent), it will compress the files, making them much lower quality. Over Google Drive, you can send the original files. Google Drive is also an alternate way to send files because email has size restrictions as well. If you prefer to see this in written form, visit the link in the description.
Directions for Google Drive
1. Install the Google Drive app (I believe it comes installed on Android phones)
2. Find the file you want to share. Click the share icon (it may be in a different place than shown here, such as in the drop down menu – on this example, you can see the drop down menu on the upper right – the three vertical dots)
3. Many choices will pop up on how you want to share the file. Depending on how many programs you have in which you can share the file, you may have to swipe to find Google Drive (which is just called “Drive” on the app shortcut)
4. You can rename the file, select which gmail account, and which folder to save it in your Google Drive. Click “Save” on the bottom right.
5. Next, go to your Google Drive app (again, it is labeled as just “Drive”)
6. Find the file you want to share in the Google Drive app. If you just uploaded it, make sure to check the “Quick Access” section. It also may need a little bit of time to appear there if you have a large file you just uploaded.
7. Click the drop down menu on the upper right.
8. Make sure to turn on Link Sharing, then press “Copy Link”
You can now paste this link by press-holding in an email, text, or where ever you wish to share the file and pasting the link. You can send file by email, but there may be size restrictions (Gmail = 25 MB, Microsoft [Outlook] Mail = 33 MB)
