Hey Taxpayers and Chicken Hawks – What’s with Ft. Hood Deaths?

What’s with these Ft. Hood deaths? It’s been the scene of many questionable events, with even many happening as of late. However, we’re approaching the 11th anniversary of a major loss of life on a U.S. Military base stateside.

Major Hasan, November 5th, 2009 – 13 Ft. Hood Deaths

Imagine you just spent a year in a warzone, either sitting semi-safely inside a base hoping to not get hit by a rocket or mortar or running around outside the wire. Luckily, you make it back stateside, safe and sound.

Or so you thought.

On November 5th, 2009, Major Nidal Malik Hasan opens fire in an SRP site (Soldier Readiness Processing site – where soldiers mobilize and demobilize for deployments). With just a pistol and a laser sight, he kills 13 people and injures 32 other personnel.

Unfortunately, this is a true story that seems like it could’ve been prevented. The military may have opted out of letting him go after he began to question if he, a devout Muslim, could hurt other Muslims, but held off because of the medical education investment made into him.

Other factors could have also attributed according to the article. The death of his mother. Finding conservative Islam. Being a psychiatrist and having to listen to stories from soldiers coming back to the states must be a hard life. That was the life of Major Hasan, and being told he had to deploy to Afghanistan may have been the last straw.

Even though Hasan was sentenced to death, he still lives. In fact, there hasn’t been a military execution since 1961, after PVT John Bennett was convicted with rape and attempted murder of an 11 year old girl. If everything in this CNN article is true, it truly was a tragic case.

Ft. Hood Deaths in 2020

It’s the end of September and already more than two dozen soldiers have died. KWTX has a breakdown of all the deaths, charts included.

Up until August 13th, 2020, one chart shows Ft. Hood deaths the highest (26) out of 4 other bases, including Ft. Brag, which has around twice the population. Since then, two more have passed.

One soldier, PVT Mejhor Moira, was found on July 17th by some fishermen at a lake. As of many news reports dated September 22nd, 2020, Moira’s final autopsy shows he died of drowning with no foul play.

Even though his sister claims “…she’s not aware whether her brother ever visited the area, but she does not believe he would go hiking or swimming in the middle of the night alone.”

If the Chicken Hawks didn’t have the Military, would the Chicken Hawks even need their faces saved?

Vanessa Guillen Breaking the Headlines

The first case to really break the news headlines this year was that of SPC Vanessa Guillen. Reported missing on April 22nd and found dismembered at the end of June. This is a terrible ending over a sexual harassment issue.

Vanessa’s younger sister was interviewed by Task and Purpose. It’s easy to blame Vanessa for not reporting what was going on, but if what she claimed is true, it wasn’t going to do anything. It’s such a hard place to be in, but there’s hope that some good may come out of it.

In today’s technological world, there are ways to capture the harassers. Cell phones have cameras and audio recorders on them. There are webcams on laptops. Heck, just search “spy camera” on Amazon and you’ll find all sorts of hidden camera devices.

There’s always the chance an attacker will discover the device and destroy it. It may also cause more aggression from the attacker.

Unfortunately, Vanessa was stubborn and thought she could work it out herself, according to her mother. In the end, get help. No innocent person deserves to be sexually assaulted.

What Can Be Done?

If you know The Hawk Bawk, you know the immediate answer would be to downsize the military drastically. The first step would be to close America’s empire drastically, if not completely. This would reduce the stress servicemembers face through war and deployments dramatically.

Although this probably won’t happen ever as long as the Chicken Hawks have a say, soldiers can be more diligent. “Army of One” is no longer the slogan. Find a group of battle buddies to watch each other’s backs. As stated earlier, we have the means today to record everything.

Then, it’s down to the recruiting process. A lot of people are jaded right from the start because of their recruiters. If you can’t be talked out of enlisting, make sure to check out some tips on how to deal with an Army Recruiter.

Finally, the brainwashing of the American public needs to end. This means the endless praising of military service members, the flyovers at football stadiums, the demonstration of colors at public school events…it all needs to stop.

The military mostly just saves face for all the Chicken Hawks. No one has yet to point to a football game the Air Force dropped bombs on enemy forces as they stormed the stadium.

Oh, and The Hawk Bawk Manifesto needs to be read by everyone!

If there is any silver lining in this, it appears that suicides have a downward trend this year in comparison to the last four years when it comes to Ft. Hood deaths.

It’s a Little Personal

When I was called out of the IRR to deploy back to the Middle East, I had to mobilize and demobilize through Ft. Hood. I’ve definitely been to better, more up-to-date bases by that time.

However, it wasn’t just how Ft. Hood appeared that made it uncomfortable.

During one safety briefing, we were informed rape was not a very rare occurrence to Ft. Hood soldiers.

Not only was rape too common, it turns out there were more male-on-male rape incidents than male-on-female. And it gets crazier!

At times, a female cohort of the male rapists would drug a victim’s drink!

It was highly suggested to us that we use the buddy system at all times. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, in this case) we didn’t have much free time to go off base.

I also demobilized from there in July of 2009. I remember sitting in the living room that following November seeing the news break about the Major Hasan incident.

How many Ft. Hood deaths (or any military deaths, for that matter) will it take before any real change happens?
