1st Generation Echo Show – White
I’m a little late with my 1st Generation Echo Show review, but better late than never!
Right out of the box, the Echo Show is impressive. It looks great and sounds great.
You can select a photo as your screen saver. Here I have The Rose.
What Makes the 1st Generation Echo Show Great?
I’m very happy with my Echo Show – The biggest benefit for me is the webcam calls. My mom is an older lady, much like that really old lady in the Echo Spot commercial. My sister and I got my mom an Echo Show as well, and she loves how easy it is to get me on a cam-call!
I didn’t think adding a screen to Alexa would be that impressive, but just seeing the timer on the screen is very handy.
The lyrics that play on the screen when music plays is amazing because I always sing the wrong words.
I also like playing movies on it when I’m working at my desk.
Jeopardy is one of my favorite skills, and it’s super cool on the show because it has the blue screen just like the show. However, for whatever reason, when you get a question wrong, it asks if you want to keep going. It doesn’t do that on my other Echo devices.
This is fun, but it’s weird because when you get a wrong answer, it’ll ask if you want to keep playing every time
The 1st Generation Echo Show Isn’t 100% Great!
The biggest downside is this continual war between YouTube/Amazon. Every video I’ve seen played on it is from Bing, and they do OK, but sometimes I can’t watch a video. Just let me log in to my YouTube account so I don’t have to watch ads! Haha!
I haven’t even used a bunch of stuff the Echo Show, but once I can afford it all, it’ll be stupendous!Final 1st Generation Echo Show Rating: 60 out of 69
